The fish is the button. Lock SOUND, PATTERN or FX and BITE only rerolls what is left open.

Their own videos, in their own words. Nobody was paid or asked.
Both were recorded when STAB and BASS first came out, so the prices they mention are the old launch prices.
STAB is its own plugin and its own purchase, and BASS never needs it. But own both, open them in the same session, and BASS finds STAB by itself and follows its key, scale and chord roots as they change. No MIDI routing, no sidechain, no menu. TAP, the percussion plugin, joins the same way: it fits its groove around STAB’s hits.

Pick a key and a style. Hit SLASH until the stab is right.
The sword goes through the fish. That is BASS saying it has found STAB.
Change the key or the scale on STAB. BASS follows inside the bar. Hit BITE for a new line in the same key.
A plain fish means BASS is on its own. A sword through the fish means it is linked to STAB. Close STAB and the fish swims on alone, in the key you last had.
Turn LOW CUT on and STAB has no sub. BASS lives in that window, one note at a time. Same keys, same scales, same style names, so the two interlock by construction.
"The interface looks great and is super intuitive, so you can start generating interesting MIDI patterns straight away without having to learn a complicated workflow."

Is BASS a bass plugin or a preset pack?
A bassline generator. BASS writes the bass sound and the line together, every time you press BITE: subs, rolling garage basslines, acid-leaning lines, dubby low end. Lock the sound you like and reroll the line, or the other way round.
Does BASS follow STAB automatically?
Yes. Open both in the same session and BASS finds STAB by itself and follows its key, scale and chord roots as they change. Nothing to route, nothing to set up.
Does BASS work in Ableton Live 11?
Yes. Live gained VST3 support in 10.1, so anything from 10.1 up loads BASS, Live 11 included. Tested in Live 12 on Mac and Windows.
Do Mac and Windows come in one purchase?
Yes. One download covers macOS (universal, notarised) and Windows, as VST3, AU and a standalone app.
Do I need an account or an internet connection?
No account. Your licence key arrives with the Gumroad receipt, the plugin checks it once online, and from then on it works offline.
Can I use the basslines in released tracks?
Yes. Everything BASS makes is yours, royalty-free, in any release.
