Set BASS to ACID, choose a key, press BITE. You get a squelchy acid sound and a line with slides and accents, playing in time. Press again for another one.
Most bassline generators give you notes and leave the sound to you. BASS writes both: an acid sound with its own filter and envelope, and a line written for it, with slides between notes and accents on the hits that matter. Every note goes through the filter as it plays, so the squelch moves with the line.
CUT opens and closes the filter, SLIDE sets how much the notes glide, DRIVE pushes it into grit, DECAY sets how long each note rings, SUB adds weight underneath, and PUMP gives it the sidechain duck on every beat. BEEF adds more weight in one press. All six knobs automate, so you can ride CUT through a break like you would on a hardware box.
Drag the line onto a MIDI track to play it with an acid synth of your own, or drag it out as 24-bit audio, in time and looping clean. Drop an exported WAV back onto BASS and the sound and line that made it come back.
ACID is one of fourteen styles: HOUSE, DEEP, DISCO, GARAGE, TECH, TECHNO, RAVE, UKG, DNB, Y2K, LO-FI, EXP, LIQUID and ACID. Lock the sound you like and BITE only rewrites the line.

Yes. BASS has an ACID style: press BITE and it writes an acid line with slides and accents, and plays it on its own acid sound. You can also drag the line out as MIDI for another synth.
No. BASS makes the sound itself. If you have an acid synth you love, drag the MIDI out and play it there instead.
